You exit the inn and enter the square.

You leave. You follow his directions and enter the thinway tunnel of pressed dirt.

As you approach the tight corridor of the stockade you are blocked by a gate manned by a window-guard. He peers at you through a tiny strip of glass. You show him the key and open the grate.

"Ye must be the easternman ordered to come here. What you say? How is the road, still sharp as ever?" He produces a chewing root, leaning on the window"You must be tired, man. But they serve nothin' good 'ere 'cept that stinky eastern stuff...oops!"

He chews furiously.

You nod and enter the first of many entryways leading to the stockades. Finally a small tunnel, and in there, the holding cells. There you see your innmate, sitting alone at the final cell at the end of the hallway. He is an extremely lean man with an orange complexity. He is covered by a blanket, but you can spot some chains peeking out of it. He speaks from deep set eyes:

- "You are the one She told me would come, the one that would hurry from the East. Listen now, for my time is short. You must know of the Witch and of the Betrayer and his Darken Hand; You know this township will be attacked today, but it is not willed by the usual foes of the civillized man, it is the will of a darker force that challenges man's dominion today!"

-"What is this, doomsayer? You say we are besieged by a foe greater than the Heretical Khans?"

-"A foe much greater, with a hand that reaches much farther" he takes a deep breath "You must know this!  The Witch's blood flow through my eyes, and it matters not what happens to me not. But you must talk with Olabach, he is the next of Kin!"

A grate rattles.

"Who is the Witch? What, by the Gods, is this plot you've conceived?"

"The Witch..." he groans "Listen! They are coming...You must flee from this town! Flee from the Kingdom of Man, for it's end is near! Olabach will hear you!"

The rattling is louder!

"I know where Eden lies, the Witch has told us all! It is the only safe place for us!"

"Eden? What is Eden?"

"Hurry! Hurry to Asylu-"

The grate goes flying out from the floor and lands with a clang. Next, you see this only briefly: A white blade swims up from the darkness like it was possessed! It slashes the throat of the man without making a sound; only the soft gurgle of blood is heard.

You charge and open the cell but the attacker has long escaped through the grate. You look down it, but it is a sheer climb. How?
