CHAPTER 2

You descend upon the eastern facing wall.

There, a score of them attempt to crawl like bugs in some way or another, either by a ratchety stair or by ropes, hoping to reach the palisade. Brown robed, hooded monks shoot them with crossbows and fire. You see their bodies collapse to the ground, full of holes; but more take their place.

One, with a long beard and mail circles on his eyes, falls but reaches for his sword as he notices you getting closer.

He spits some nonsense at you as you cleave his body apart. He falls over with a soft sound, spilling over mud.

A loud splitting sound! The northernmost tower clumps over itself and crushes the gate, along with the bodies of the creatures. "Now!" shouts someone. Soon you see that all of these creatures are climbing over this side of the wall, taking opportunity of the chaos.

A small thing slaps your shoulder as if ordering you to go. Now, you grab his back and thrust the side of your blade upon his chest. Some of them notice you; a tall lanky, long nosed freak, and a barrel chested badger looking dwarf.

You are upon the ladder. A monk outstretches a hand. The things grab at your heels but you kick them like a horse; they fall over dead.

You are launched over the palisades: "You're okay, man? You're one of us, right? "

A monk aims a bow at you "Explain!"

"Hurry! They're climbing over! Hurry with the oil!"

"You look like an executioner, but we can't be so sure!"

"Of course, he is, look at that stinging blood red hood!"

"Stop, man! I need to see Olabach! I fight your cause!"

"Olabach?" You hear the screaming of hot oil. "Lead him!"
