CHAPTER 2
"Agganthorn!" a brash scream echoes. The carriage walls are torn asunder. Barreling bolts bite at the wood and splinter it. Panacea coils. You lurch forward grabbing your axe.
You see now: at Gurmandiir's feet is a charred corpse, a burnt head. "On foot now, cur!" he shouts and chops the assailant from shoulder to heart. Blood gushes and the blade gleams.
You kick the body. "Neanderthals?"
"Aye!" he replies. And Panacea scurries out of the car: "So close to Asylum? Then we must hurry! Aid our friends there!"
Horns like a hog's deathrattle echo through the dimly lit halls. Corpses litter, burnt and bloodied, as you follow the paladin. Panacea holds a torch close to him, but you cannot see much farther. The doctor lets out a prayer to his beads.
Like cleaving through grass the passage goes from battered clay to a blood-drenched red. You can only see the swinging light of the mystic blade, as it bellows through flesh.
"How many of them? How many of them will crawl out of dark holes to kill us!?" you say.
"I don't know. I hope we are getting close..." replies the iceman. "I just hope that-"
"Quiet." says the doctor "Listen, they are already sieging the Asylum. Hurry now! We will get out from here towards a cliffside, I just know it!"
