You begin to scout the wall.

On your left, you see a small shrine beyond a well-lit corridor.

You see that there is a large stairway of marble leading up back to the mesa. Following it, you see, is a stone bridge, leading through the opposite way. Beyond it, a gate obscured by darkness.

You see that the way descends ever so slightly, and that this larger passage mouths into a deep cliff. Below you see an outcropping of rock and a sinuous road that hugs the very cliff, leading into outernical lands. You know that you will find no passage there.

How many passages are there to this supposed fortress-city? You ponder, and you ask yourself, if the beasts were not playing cards with the villagers themselves!
