CHAPTER 1

"You sound distressed. I too look for a woman, and I would grieve if she were to die. I shall aid you"

"Brother! My name is Ulak, Ulak the Hunter."

"Nightcrawler is my title, but I will share no name"

The hunter knows much about the lay of the land and during the trail he tells you of small things but you pay no attention. The path is dim so you follow him closely, but something else is bothering you: there is not a single sound except for you two.

"Say brother: who is this woman you love?" says the hunter, kicking rocks

"I do not even know. She has enraptured me, her beauty I've seen no equal" you say "I saw her by a fetid river and I took plight, but she did nay care. Said something about her sisters upstream"

"Then she is gone by now, friend"

"Nay, something about a monster guarding the entrance to somewhere upstream. That is why she wouldn't follow. I promised to help but we parted ways quickly"

"Women are like birds: rare, wild and fleeting. You won't see her again, I promise"

The way is quiet once more.
